Communications

The engineers in the Communications subsector work with the most advanced technologies available and apply them to develop robust solutions for our clients in the transportation industry. Generally, our engineers design the communications elements of larger transportation projects. Communications designs typically involve:

  • Free and confined space radio frequency (RF) propagation studies
  • Radio system analysis, design and layout
  • Data transmission (vital and non-vital) over various types of networks
  • Optical network design and layout
  • SCADA
  • PA and intercom systems
  • RF interference analysis
  • CCTV systems design
  • Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems
  • Fire Alarm Systems
  • Telephone Systems

Our engineers also provide support to clients during the construction phase of a project to ensure that the communications systems are correctly installed, tested and commissioned into revenue service.

Communications engineers bring design knowledge and experience to an integrated project team environment to ensure that the communication systems support other design elements and contribute to the project’s overall success.
