Parsons Parsons

Traffic Engineering

From our long experience in resolving highway and traffic engineering demands comes the strength and knowledge to meet any challenge. Parsons’ traffic engineers start by developing traffic data, using computer analysis tools for traffic modeling and capacity, operational analysis, toll fare analysis, and signal designs.

This type of expertise has been applied to a wide variety of projects that include: the transportation master plan for the Los Angeles airport; data collection, modeling, and capacity analysis for a multimodal interchange at the intersection of I-91 and I-95 in New Haven, Connecticut; the Regional Computerized Traffic Signal System in Houston, Texas; and a comprehensive Transportation and Road Improvement Plan for the government of Abu Dhabi.

Parsons traffic engineers understand the importance of service integration and multimodal transportation. Our engineering studies of projected traffic flows, alternative roadways, infrastructure, and other planning factors contribute to the total transportation solutions Parsons can deliver. Our traffic engineering knowledge extends beyond roads to encompass interconnections with tunnels, bridges, airports, rail and mass transit. In our increasingly intermodal world, Parsons’ comprehensive transportation perspective is becoming more valuable to our clients every day.
