Parsons is a world leader in the highly specialized field of blast analysis and blast resistivity design and has successfully executed a wide range of unique projects and studies for clients worldwide. We have the capability to provide threat analysis, define levels of protection, and provide recommendations to improve existing buildings or upgrade the design for new facilities.
Parsons designs and provides construction and testing support for large blast/thermal shock facilities capable of simulating the combined effects of various yields of nuclear weapons. These simulators test tactical systems and components to verify their survivability and/or identify vulnerabilities.
We analyze secondary blast effects such as infill pressure, fragmentation, and progressive collapse allowing greater accuracy in determining likely personnel vulnerability.
We provide these services for a variety of institutions including military facilities, embassy compounds, petrochemical industry control rooms configured to withstand accidental explosions, and airport parking and terminal structures designed to resist vehicle bombs of up to 4,000-pound equivalent TNT charges.
