Project Description

Under this contract, Parsons transported and off-loaded 6.5 million tons of specially packed low-level radioactive waste and hazardous waste from remedial action sites across the Hanford Nuclear Reservation.

The contract included constructing a maintenance/repair facility, maintaining 18 specialized roll-on/ roll-off tractor trailer units and 6 roll-on/roll-off straight trucks, supplying and maintaining 375 roll-off containers, and maintaining an additional 130 containers owned by the Department of Energy (DOE). In addition to the roll-on/roll-off units, the work also included transporting 110,000 tons of hazardous waste with heavy-haul dump truck and trailer units. More than 10 million highway miles have been traveled—an equivalent of 130 million ton-miles.
