INSPECTION
Parsons on-site inspectors perform quality assurance oversight by monitoring, reviewing, and auditing the program to demonstrate that the work complies with the requirements. A quality project ultimately reflects the owner's reputation and, just as importantly, can:
- Improve safety
- Reduce construction costs
- Minimize conflicts
- Reduce insurance costs
Our inspectors examine all work in progress and record their observations in a daily inspection report. The appropriate superintendent or foreman is notified immediately if work does not conform to the plans and specifications, and we monitor how quickly corrective action is taken.
Although the contractor performs soil and concrete tests, Parsons observes and documents the results, noting the exact location of the soils tests and concrete placement locations for concrete tests.
Reviews and assessments detail the contractor's total performance. Our responsibilities include:
- Audit all inspection reports
- Perform spot inspections to ensure accurate reporting
- Evaluate the contractor's deficiency tracking system and warrant its use
- Issue noncompliance reports for violations of the quality program
