PROCUREMENT
Parsons procurement system is federally audited and approved, committing $430 million annually for subcontracts, materials, and equipment. The procurement system is a structured, uniform system consistently implemented throughout the corporation. An existing national and international network of Parsons acquisition professionals ensure that project procurement requirements are accomplished in a responsible and efficient manner, obtaining the best value for the subcontract and procurement purchasing dollar. Field office procurement is supported by Corporate Procurement providing policy, procedure, training, support, oversight, and compliance review.
A key element of all Parsons procurements is careful acquisition planning. Technical, procurement, and client representatives work as team to develop a procurement plan that will result in a "best value" subcontract or purchase order. We have established national and international relationships with a broad range of subcontractors and suppliers. Suppliers range from smaller, highly qualified and specialized regional firms to large, well-respected, national organizations.
To decrease procurement time and improve accuracy, the procurement system is tied electronically to computer-aided design and the specifications databases. Electronic data interchange tools allows us to collaborate with our suppliers online to resolve questions. We routinely send electronic CAD model files to suppliers for direct feed to their electronic fabrication computers.
Parsons small and disadvantaged business outreach and mentoring program commits over $100 million annually. Our outreach program is audited by the Department of Defense and has once again received the rating of "Outstanding," the highest possible rating.
